Release Information

The current release of Powerhouse Campus is Version 1.2.5.9e which was released on 28/10/2011. This version added a number of enhancements including:

  • enhanced dropbox features - addition of pagination to make viewing the dropboxes easier
  • revised and updated import feature giving the ability to restart the import process and also skip importing class data
  • minor issue fixes for admin widgets and linking of student and parent accounts

Upcoming Releases

A new version of Powerhouse Campus is scheduled for release in November. This new version will build on the previous releases with further refinements to the functionality and a range of new features including:

Revised interface designs: The new interfaces present a cleaner more easily navigated version of the user dashboards. The new interface will also include a new document search feature and the ability for students to add widgets to the bottom of their dashboard. This image provides a sneak preview of the new look.

New Campus Interface preview

Snapshot: This new feature will allow teachers to save a set of class pages and then restore them back to Campus. Information saved includes the content of the text and content widget and the custom widgets that have been added to the class pages. This has two benefits; it allows a teacher to keep a backup of their class pages and it allows them to save class pages for re-use the following year.

Messaging: In addition to announcements, the next release of Campus will feature messaging. This will allow teachers to message each other and the students of their classes.

EdCube: Mediasphere is currently working to integrate EdCube into Campus. This will add the powerful portfolio features of EdCube such as mind mapping and project pages into the Campus interface.
 

In line with Mediasphere's policy of constant product improvement, there will be a further release in January of next year. Presently under development for this release are the following features:

  • Markbook
  • Teacher/Parent Booking
  • Data Purge
  • Collaborative space
  • Powerhouse App
  • Timetabler
